HaltBlock is a browser extension that blocks ads, trackers and YouTube ads, and labels writing, images and videos that were probably made by AI. It works in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and in Chrome and Edge on Windows.
Yes. HaltBlock is a Safari extension for iPhone, iPad and Mac. One purchase covers all your Apple devices, and Pro supports Family Sharing.
Yes. On Windows, HaltBlock is an extension for Chrome and Edge, with the same ad blocking and AI labels. It also works in Chrome on Mac, Linux and ChromeOS. Buy Pro on this site and you'll get a license key by email that works in up to 5 browsers.
Ad blocking is free with no time limit. Pro, which adds the AI labels, sponsor skipping and custom rules, is $1.99 a month or $11.99 a year, with a free trial: 14 days on yearly, 7 on monthly. See pricing for details.
No. There's nothing to sign up for. On Safari, Pro is tied to your Apple ID. On Chrome and Edge, it's tied to a license key.
No detector is perfect, which is why HaltBlock shows a confidence score instead of silently deleting things. When content carries an official AI label (like Content Credentials or YouTube's synthetic-content disclosure), HaltBlock is near-certain. Otherwise it combines on-device analysis with community votes, and your own 👍 / 👎 tune it to you.
Tap 👎 on the label. HaltBlock removes it, raises the bar for labeling similar content for you, and your vote counts toward the score other people see. You can also lower the sensitivity in settings.
Because an estimate shouldn't make decisions for you. Some AI-assisted writing is fine, and some human writing looks robotic. A label lets you decide. If you never want to see it, tap Hide.
The EU AI Act requires AI-generated content to be marked in a machine-readable way, and many AI companies now do this worldwide through standards like Content Credentials (C2PA). HaltBlock reads those marks, which is why tagged images and videos get labels close to 100%.
No. HaltBlock only checks public content on web pages, like posts, comments, reviews and articles. It never reads form fields, passwords or text you type.
HaltBlock is built to stay out of sight. Elements are hidden in a way pages can't inspect, and common ad-blocker detection scripts are neutralized. If a site ever breaks, pause HaltBlock for that site with one tap.
YouTube changes often. When an ad gets past the first layer, HaltBlock mutes it and skips to the end automatically, and updated filters arrive in the background. Make sure HaltBlock is allowed on youtube.com and that you're on the latest version.
No. Network blocking is handled by the browser itself, and AI checks only run on content you actually scroll to. Most pages load faster with HaltBlock because the ads never download.
Yes. Pause HaltBlock on any site from the toolbar button and its ads will show again. The choice is remembered until you turn it back on.
No. Ad blocking and AI checks happen on your device. HaltBlock has no accounts and keeps no browsing history. When you vote, only an anonymous fingerprint of the content is sent, unless you choose to share samples.
A short code calculated from the content, like a checksum. The same post always produces the same code, so votes can be matched up, but the code can't be turned back into the post.
Here: privacy policy. It lists exactly what's sent and the services HaltBlock uses.
On iPhone or iPad: Settings › Apps › Safari › Extensions › HaltBlock, then allow it on all websites. On Mac: Safari › Settings › Extensions, then check HaltBlock and allow it on all websites.
It's on as soon as you install it. Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin HaltBlock so you can see what it blocked on each page.
Ads and AI content can appear on any site, so HaltBlock needs to run on all of them to block and label them. It doesn't collect anything from the pages it runs on.
HaltBlock is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and to Chrome and Edge on Windows.
