HaltBlock does two jobs. It blocks ads and trackers for free, and with Pro it marks writing, images and videos that were probably made by AI.
Blocking happens in the browser's own network layer, before a page can download an ad. Pages get lighter, not heavier.
HaltBlock uses the same filter lists as uBlock Origin: EasyList for ads and EasyPrivacy for trackers, over 100,000 rules in total. HaltBlock hands them to Safari, Chrome or Edge, which apply them natively. That's faster and easier on the battery than a blocker that inspects every page in JavaScript.

HaltBlock removes them from that data before the player reads it, so there's no ad to wait out and no black screen.
It also hides the ads YouTube puts in the home feed, search results, Shorts and the merch shelf under videos. If an ad still gets through after a YouTube update, HaltBlock mutes it and skips to the end.
Many sites check whether their ads loaded and show a wall if they didn't. HaltBlock hides elements in a layer the page can't inspect, and it answers the common detection scripts the way they expect, so the wall never appears.
If a site still breaks, pause HaltBlock for that site from the toolbar button. It reloads without HaltBlock, and HaltBlock remembers your choice.

HaltBlock combines several independent signals into one percentage and shows it next to the content. It gets more accurate every time someone taps 👍 or 👎.
Under the EU AI Act and similar rules, more AI tools now tag what they make. HaltBlock checks Content Credentials (C2PA), IPTC "AI-generated" metadata and YouTube's altered-or-synthetic disclosure first. When a tag is there, HaltBlock is near-certain.
Most AI text isn't tagged, so HaltBlock looks at phrasing, structure and rhythm, right on your device. Nothing you read is uploaded. On Apple devices with Apple Intelligence, Pro can run a second, deeper check.
Every 👍 and 👎 is sent as an anonymous fingerprint of the content. When enough people agree about the same post, image or video, everyone's label for it gets more accurate.

Try the buttons. Hide blurs it; 👍 / 👎 teach HaltBlock.
Images from Midjourney, DALL·E, Firefly, Google and others often carry a signature saying they were generated. HaltBlock reads it and labels the image, even when the page doesn't mention it.
On YouTube, HaltBlock reads the uploader's "altered or synthetic content" disclosure, looks at the title and description, and adds what other viewers voted.
Labels never remove anything. Hide blurs the post until you tap Show. Thumbs down removes the label and teaches HaltBlock to label less like it for you. Thumbs up confirms it for everyone.
Labels appear at 70% and up by default. Set sensitivity to Low for fewer labels or High to catch more.
The toolbar button shows what HaltBlock did on the page you're on. If something looks broken, pause HaltBlock there and the page reloads without it. Every other site stays protected.
With Pro, add your own hiding rules. Type the CSS selector of anything you never want to see, like a sticky video player or a comments section, and HaltBlock hides it on every site.
/* one selector per line */

HaltBlock is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and to Chrome and Edge on Windows.
