Help with HaltBlock
Setting up, fixing problems and managing Pro
Turn on HaltBlock
iPhone and iPad: open Settings › Apps › Safari › Extensions › HaltBlock. Turn on Allow Extension, then set All Websites to Allow. Open the HaltBlock app once so it can set up.
Mac: open Safari › Settings › Extensions, check HaltBlock, and allow it on all websites. If HaltBlock isn't listed, open the HaltBlock app once, then check again.
Chrome and Edge: HaltBlock is on as soon as you install it. Click the puzzle-piece icon and pin HaltBlock to see what it blocked on each page.
HaltBlock isn't blocking anything
- Check that HaltBlock is allowed on all websites, not just when you click it. In Safari this is the "All Websites" setting above.
- Click the HaltBlock button and make sure the site isn't paused. Paused sites show Resume on this site.
- Make sure Ad blocking is turned on in the popup.
- Reload the page. Pages that were already open when you installed HaltBlock need one reload.
A site looks broken
Click the HaltBlock button in the toolbar and choose Pause on this site. The page reloads without HaltBlock, and every other site stays protected. Please tell us which site so we can fix it.
I still see a YouTube ad
YouTube changes often. HaltBlock skips any ad that gets through, and filter updates arrive in the background. Make sure HaltBlock is allowed on youtube.com and you're on the latest version. If ads keep showing on one video, open an issue with the video link.
I don't see any AI labels
- AI labels are part of Pro. Check that Pro is active in the HaltBlock app (Safari) or HaltBlock settings (Chrome and Edge).
- Check that AI text, image and video labels are turned on in the popup.
- Try raising sensitivity to High. On Medium, HaltBlock only labels content it's at least 70% sure about.
- Short text isn't checked. HaltBlock needs a few sentences to judge writing.
Something was labeled AI but isn't
Tap thumbs down on the label. HaltBlock removes it, labels less like it for you, and your vote improves detection for everyone. You can also lower the sensitivity in HaltBlock's settings.
Subscriptions in Safari
HaltBlock Pro for Safari is billed through your Apple ID. To cancel or change plans, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions. To restore Pro on a new device, open the HaltBlock app and tap Restore purchases. For refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
License keys in Chrome and Edge
After you buy Pro, your license key arrives by email from Lemon Squeezy. Click the HaltBlock button, choose Settings, paste the key and click Activate. One key works in up to 5 browsers, Chrome and Edge alike.
To cancel, switch between monthly and yearly, update your card or find a lost key, use the Manage subscription link in your receipt email, or look up your order at app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders.
If activation says the key is already in use in 5 browsers, remove an old browser from the manage page in your receipt email, then try again.
Uninstall HaltBlock
iPhone and iPad: delete the HaltBlock app. Mac: drag HaltBlock from Applications to the Trash. Chrome and Edge: right-click the HaltBlock button and choose Remove. Uninstalling doesn't cancel Pro, so cancel your subscription first if you no longer want it.
